Beliefs

"I care about the Australian environment more than the Greens...

I care about workers rights more than Labor....

I care about an efficient government more than the Liberal coalition"

 Nathan Jones  March 2011

Core beliefs - no state governments:

We should all feel proud and thankful that we live in the best country on earth.

We believe that every Australian has the right to free education, health care and to live in a safe street and country.

We all have responsibilities to respect the rights of other Australians. We oppose all forms of racism and sexism and we want to promote Australia as a fair go for all.

We believe in free enterprise with the government providing consistent business regulation across Australia. There is no need to have complex state business laws that change at every state border and have more federal laws as well.

The federal government should be the peacemaker if there is an industrial relations despute between unions and employers, while not favouring one over the other. Unions have made a valuable contribution to improve Australian working conditions over the past hundred years and should continue doing so.

The natural environment is essential for our quality of life. We believe the government has a very important role in environmental protection as do all Australian people. We can all do our bit to help, rather than harm our natural environment. Australian's should be leading the world in green technology and renewable energies. R & D costs of green technologies should be subsidised by the government.

The government should provide social justice and meet the collective needs of the Australian people. Government should be as small as possible but as big as necessary. State governments are not necessary to meet the collective needs of the Australian people.

Currently we are the only political party in the centre of the political spectrum - in between Labor Party and the Liberal/National Coalition. The answers to Australian political problems are always found in the middle and compromising between the left and right extremes.

We believe the government in this country should be of the people, by the people and for the people. But the current Labor and Liberal hold on power in both Federal and State has meant that the government has become: for politicians, by the politicians and for the benefit of politicians. Jobs for the mates of those in power is corrupt and a waste of your taxes. People should benefit from government rather than the ruling government benefit from the people.
