Good Morning Nathan,

Thanks for your time on the phone today.  I must say I'm pretty excited about the future possibilities & opportunities that the "No State Governments" could provide.

My professional background revolves around Customer Service Managment, IT & Marketing.  Recently I started my own Mortgage Broking Business, which is just getting some traction after 6 months.

In the past I have been involved with local community groups, & I was a co-founder of a youth group for our township in 1998/1999.

I have had a strong interest in Politics at all levels for many years, & - like many other Australian Tax Payers - feel that the current system is antiquated & a terrible drain on the public coffers.  Hence I am excited to see your main goal - the abolition of State Governments.

Quite rightly, the nationalisation of infrustructure, utilities & resources, education & health care (et al) is in the best interest of all Australians, both present & those to come, & I strongly believe that this would enable a more "hands on" approach to the provision of community services & facilities.  The aim of course is to build stronger communities, neighbourhoods & townships, by supporting the needs of the individual.  In turn, creating happier, healthier & safer Australians & work places.

I mentioned briefly to you one of the ways that community services could be provided "to the door" by a Community Support Team.  Funded federally, delivered locally.  Possibly based at central community hubs, either schools or community/neighbourhood houses.

These teams would provide a point of referal - or a link - to a variety of services ranging from Health Care (especially Mental Health, Parental Support, Aged Care Services), Education (adult education, further learning, apprenticships, etc), Integration with Technology, plus the general needs of the community.  Also the presence of these teams "Patroling" the streets would also instill a sense of greater security & safety for the community.

I believe in governance that engages with the constituants, & considering the technology available to us today, we have the means to enable everyone to have a vote on any given issue.  Basically less converluded referendums, that will enable the people to play a direct role more often in governance.  This will become more critical when we see Federal Funds funelled straight into local government.

Nathan - I could go on, & on, but unfortunately my time on the soap box has come to an end for today.  I sincerely wish you all the luck in the world.

Please feel free to call me or e-mail me to discuss any of my comments, thoughts, ideas (There's more! ... Lots more).

Thanks again for your time & I look forward to receiving your newsletter.

Best regards

Pat
