All humans have the responsibility to use the environment that we have so that the next generation of people have a similar environment to enjoy and use.
We propose new Energy efficiency strategies for households, industry and commercial buildings. These buildings can all be more energy efficient, which will save money on electricity bills, while cutting pollution. This strategy will create thousands of 'Green jobs'.
We see no need to cut down old growth native forests where there are millions of hectares available to grow and cut down pine forests for example.
People are more important than trees and have to live somewhere and move from place to place. If we need to expand a dangerous two lane road from Sydney to Brisbane and make it four lanes then it should be built taking into account both financial and environmental factors.
Mining company profits should contain an additional environmental levy where the money raised goes into a future fund for the future generations of Australians. This should be similar to the Norweigan Petroleum Future fund. The environmental levy on Mining companies should be additional to company tax but less than the proposed 40% super profits tax that Labor has introduced goes to investment in companies that are developing renewable energies such as solar, wind and geothermal power.
